Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings. – strongSamuel Johnson/strong

With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world. – strongDalai Lama/strong

Somehow I can’t believe that there are any heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C s. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable. – strongWalt Disney/strong

strongOnly you can take control of your self-confidence. /strongAll of us have some level of self- confidence, and if you are low in self-confidence, it really is possible to do things that will change that, to take and be in control of your self-confidence.

Below are some things that can help you do that, and you will notice that none of them is revolutionary and none of them will do it all by themselves. Also, the list is certainly not comprehensive, and these are just some of the things that have worked for me, as well as others.

The good news is you don’t need to do all of them, or even most of them, so just pick and choose those that might appeal to you, maybe just a couple at first, and give them a try. If they work for you, try others, if they don’t, try others, and you will notice a gradual gain in the control of your self-confidence, especially as you repeat some of the stuff.

strongClearing your desk/strong might seem like a small, simple task (then again, for some of you it might not be so small), but it has always worked wonders for some, so when your desk starts to get a little messy, and the world around you is in the same shape, clearing off your desk can be your way of getting a little piece of your life under control, and it can be the calm in the center of the storm around you.

strongWork on small things/strong, since trying to take on a big project or task can be overwhelming and daunting and intimidating for most individuals and even the best of us. Instead, and this is important, learn to break off small chunks and work in short bursts, and the small achievements will make you feel good, as they will eventually add up to big achievements. The real secret is to learn to work like this all the time, and soon you’ll be in control of and full of self-confidence.

strongYou need to get active/strongstrong, /strongstrongas/strong doing something is always better than not doing anything. Although doing something could lead to mistakes, but understand that mistakes are a part of life and how we learn. In reality, without mistakes, we’d never get better, without failure, we’d never succeed, so don’t sweat about those. Just get active either physically, or active by taking steps to accomplish something.

strongDo something you’ve been procrastinating on/strong, especially whatever’s been sitting on your to-do list, and do it first the first chance you get and get it out of the way, and you will create one of the best feelings you’ll ever have.

strongEmpower yourself with knowledge/strong in general, is one of the best strategies for building your self-confidence, and although there many ways to accomplish this, one of the surest ways to empower yourself is through increasing your knowledge base, for not only are you building competence by becoming prepared, becoming more knowledgeable will boost your confidence.

strongPhysical exercise/strong should be on every list, as exercise will be one of your most empowering activities and it will make you feel so much better about yourself, and all you have to do is start with a walk a few times a week, and you’ll quickly begin to see benefits.

strongYou should be grateful/strongstrong,/strongwhile being grateful for what you have in life, and for what others have given you, is not only a very humbling activity, it can also be a very positive and rewarding activity that will immensely improve your self-image and confidence.

strongYou should volunteer/strong for a good cause, spread some good cheer, make the lives of others better and it will be some of the best time you’ve ever spent, and the most amazing side benefit of volunteering is that you’ll feel better about yourself, almost instantly.
